In the village of Brniste near Ceska Lipa, cracks appeared on the road and the pillar of the road bridge also began to crack. During the year, the entire side of the bridge tilted and the concrete structure parted by 5 cm.
In autumn, extraordinary inspection was carried out. The road administrator had the bridge immediately closed for the road traffic. However, a railway line runs under the road bridge, which cannot be simply closed. Trains must pass through at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. Reconstruction of the bridge is already planned for 2021.
After consulting the matter with a bridge specialist, we have installed three Inclinometer sensors at selected locations, to measure inclination.
